House Rules

Post #1 by BradClark » December 10th, 2016, 11:44 pm

One of the things I have decided to do is make the wild die an additional die to be rolled, so if your Driving skill is 4d you would normally roll 3+1 according to the rules. My plan is to roll 4d and add the Wild die.

If this game becomes a hit with my group, I may expand the number of Chandra forces pited against the Earth. Maybe bring in a several more of the Chandra motherships to make my players sweat a bit.

Why as an additional die? That would balance all checks more towards the players favor

I am a very pro player gm so I don't see it as a problem especially since I plan to also increase the difficulty levels. I will see how it goes during my one shot next weekend.

I am doing some game prep for my one shot(hoping it leads to more) on Sunday looking over the Wild dice rules some more to summarize if you roll a 1 on a wild die you subtract the highest die from your total, if you roll a 6 on a wild die you add that to your total and roll again, again adding the wild die to your total. Now my idea is this keep the rolling of a 6 on the wild die the same but modify the rolling of 1 on a wild die to this. If you roll a 1 you subtract the highest die, you will then roll the wild die again and if another 1 is rolled than you keep subtracting the next highest die in sequence. Any other roll is added and if you roll a 6 you follow the rules as laid out in the book.

Just making the 1 as bad as the 6 is good. That should work for some possible spectacular failures. :)

That would make the wild die definitely more... wild :)
